8:45 AM - 2:00 PM “A Visit to Berkeley Plantation”

Travel down Virginia’s historic Route 5 to tour Berkeley Plantation, circa 1726. This beautiful Georgia mansion was the site of the 1st official Thanksgiving and a birthplace of a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a U.S. President. Located on the James River, it is said to be the oldest three story brick house in Virginia. Berkeley was the filming location for the movie “Harriet”, based on iconic freedom fighter Harriet Tubman. The slave quarters constructed for the movie were relocated to the approximate site of the original slave quarters on the property along with an exhibit providing more about the enslaved people at Berkeley. The tour includes time to visit the gardens and gift shop. Lunch is included in the program. We should return to the Lodge about 2:00pm.

Pre-registration required.

EUFMC Attendees Say

On average, I attend three conferences annually and 2023 was my first year at EUFMC. Since the event, many people have asked me how it was, and I always start with the same sentence: “I have never been to a more beneficial event.” Gathering individuals who face the same challenges and opportunities promotes growth and development through the collaboration at EUFMC. I am grateful for the connections I was able to make in one year of attendance and look forward to attending in the future.
